Stephanie BadSoldier Snow: Indigenous Iowans: Meskwaki culture and heritage.
Stephanie BadSoldier Snow was raised on the Meskwaki Settlement with traditional Meskwaki beliefs and language, and is a member of the Swan Clan. She is an enrolled member of the Ho Chunk Nation of Wisconsin. Stephanie is a member of the American Anthropological Association and the Association of Indigenous Anthropologists. As assistant to the director of Meskwaki Historical Preservation, Stephanie was directly involved in the inception of the Meskwaki Food Sovereignty Initiative in 2012. Currently, as Education Coordinator for the Meskwaki Nation, she continues to work closely with Food Sovereignty and Red Earth Gardens. She is actively working to develop curriculum utilizing Systems Thinking to support her community in the pursuit of an indigenized form of learning. She is a Water Protector, Water Walker, and a member of Moms Clean Air Force (both Native and Latina divisions).
